ADB Georgia continues to provide help for skill development

Tbilisi: The Asian Development Bank, Georgia has been providing all kinds of assistance for the skill development of Georgian youth. The bank is implementing the project “Modern skill for better employment” in this direction.

It is worth noting that the Asian Development Bank of Georgia has been working for a long time to significantly upgrade the employment capacities of youth. This latest ongoing project is also a step forward in this direction.

It is worth noting that under the framework of the “Modern Skills for Better Employment” project, it became possible to receive professional education at the level of public schools.

The study of information technologies courses has already started in Oni, Aspindze, Samtredia,  Martvili, Chiaturi, Zestafoni, and Akhaltsikhe’s public schools.

These courses in information technology last 2.5 months. This 2.5-month course allows anyone to learn a new profession and improve existing knowledge with unique experience in information technology.

According to the information the main objective of the project is to provide vocational education in 20 Georgian schools. These 20 schools will provide skill-based education in addition to vocational colleges and centres to increase the choice and availability of professions to the maximum number of beneficiaries.

The “Modern Skills for Better Employment” project is a joint project of the Asian Development Bank and the Ministry of Education of Georgia. It aims to develop and spread modern vocational education throughout the country and equip the youth population with modern skills for more employment opportunities.

According to the officials of the Asian Development Bank in the coming year more financial help will be provided to execute projects for technical education throughout the country.

They also stressed that with the advancement of technology, the industry also needs skilled labour. He said ADB in coordination with the Georgian government is determined to provide its students with the latest and world-class technical education.

The introduction of artificial intelligence has changed the shape of the job market in the present era. Technical experts need to update their skills to meet the industry’s demands as well.
