Georgian Minister visits France for work meetings

The Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Thea Tsulukiani, continues work meetings in France. She discussed the Georgian museums that will be sent to Paris for internships.

The Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Thea Tsulukiani, continues work meetings in France. She discussed the Georgian museums that will be sent to Paris for internships.

The Minister met with Grand Palace and National Museums Union President Didie Fuzilie and Deputy Director General Christophe Schofour, as well as the head of international cooperation of Ke Branley Museum, Cleman Toujeron.

Georgian Emergency and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to France Gocha Javakhishvili attended the meetings.

During the meeting with Didie Fuzilie and Christophe Shofour, they discussed cooperation plans, perspectives and issues related to the development of museum field and art education, in particular, internships of Georgian young specialists and students of art field in French museums from 2024; planning study trips and internships, concept, arrangement, organization of the exhibition and in technical matters for artistic purposes.

The future perspective of holding Georgian Culture Week in “Gran Pale” was also discussed during the meeting.

The French side has expressed readiness to sign a memorandum of cooperation with Georgian museums, which will be the framework for future collaboration.

It will allow Georgia to more actively share the French side’s knowledge and experience on issues such as organizing an exhibition, installing communication facilities in museum spaces, planning the optimal route of visit A, offering new services to different groups of society, increasing museums’ revenue, and more.

During the meeting, the parties agreed that the visit of French specialists to Georgia would be planned to get acquainted with museum foundations and, in general, the potential of art.

During the meeting at Ke Branley Museum, the discussion touched on Georgian folklore, Georgian culture of fabric and carpet production, national clothing tradition, traditional musical instruments, ethnography and the rich tradition of Georgian ethnological school.

An agreement has been reached that a representative of this museum will participate in a future planned mission to Georgia so that he can study the potential of cooperation with the Georgian side.

The issue of organizing joint exhibitions of national museums was also discussed at the meeting.
