Georgia: In the European Open Championships, Georgian para powerlifter Akaki Jincharadze secured the top position after defeating his Turkish and Greek rivals. He bagged a gold medal in the 107 kg category.
The match was held in Tbilisi on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. The match for the para powerlifter was held on the fifth day of the tournament. He lifted 225 and 228 kilograms in the powerlifter, which led them to win the match.
With the win, Jincharadze emerged as the first Georgian to win gold in para powerlifting competitions. The championships will be worked as a qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paralympic Games. The games will be held in Paris.
The players from Georgia emerged best in various games on the same day; a British newspaper selected Georgian midfielder Luka Parkadze among the “60 of the best young talents in world football”.
Various 60 players born in 2005 have been covered under the selection list, which will likely make an impact with their ultimate skills.
