Georgia: The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia charged one person with trafficking on May 8, 2025, on Thursday, and the accused was arrested immediately. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia conducted an in-depth investigation into this case.

According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, it was found that the defendant threatened, violated, and blackmailed the victim. However,  the victim was sexually exploited.

Certainly, Psychological violence, blackmail, and threatening forced the victim to give sexual services to men, and the money earned was deposited into various bank accounts.

In addition, it should be noted that in case of disobedience, the accused insulted the victim, threatened with physical retribution, blackmailed, and threatened with various criminal records. He constantly monitored the victim and demanded that she transfer a certain amount of money.

Notably, the detainee was charged under Part 1 of Article 143 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (trafficking committed by threat, violence, and blackmail). It provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment.

Based on the Georgian prosecutor’s office‘s motion, the court has already imposed imprisonment on the defendant as a preventive measure. The investigation into the criminal case at the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues.
