Georgian sports couple Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava competed for the first time in history in the senior category of the ISU Grand Prix in Grenoble, France.
Athletes won Georgia’s historical bronze medal with 205.78 points in two programs. For Georgia, it is a significant historical achievement.
Athletes finished the short program with 72.26 points in the third place. Even in the free program, they earned 133,52 points from judges and came to second place.
It is to be noted that in the history of Georgian figure skating Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava are the first sports couple who could win a silver medal at the senior European championship held in Kaunas, Lithuania. The couple also celebrated the Junior World Championship this year.
This victory shows the nation’s increasing competitiveness and presence in the sport, and it is a major turning point for Georgian figure skating.
It is noteworthy that Georgian athletes were at the final stage of the ISU Grand Prix with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia.

- 2024 PGE Warsaw Cup gold medalists: The couple won the gold medal at the 2024 PGE Warsaw Cup.
Although they compete for Georgia, both Metelkina and Berulava were born in Russia and trained there.
