The Youth agency, a prominent youth organisation working for welfare of Georgian young population announced a new competition. The name of this new competition is the “Georgian Youth Representative to the UN”.
The information was also shared on social media handles. While taking to social media handles the Youth Agency stated, “Any citizen of Georgia aged 18 to 29 (the candidate’s age should not exceed 29 years by the end of the competition) who has a complete general education and has not been earlier selected as a Georgian youth representative to the UN can participate in the competition.
The candidate participating in the competition must meet the following requirements:
- Must be fluent in Georgian and English (writing and speaking)
- He must be familiar with the competition topic
- He must Be familiar with the processes taking place in the youth field and have information about the activities of the Youth Agency, the structures represented by the UN in Georgia and organizations working with youth.
The winner will have the opportunity to:
- Be funded with 30,000 GEL and be granted a one-year mandate
- Travel to the United States of America and participate in the Youth Forum of the UN General Assembly’s Social and Economic Council
- To speak at the forum about the needs and challenges of Georgian youth
- To participate in the development of various resolutions and declarations at the UN, within the framework of the Young Ambassadors Institute
- To share knowledge with Georgian youth about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and important processes underway at the UN.
Applications for the competition will be accepted from February 19 to March 4, 2025, . The interested can visit official website to submit their applications.
It is worth noting that the grant competition “Georgian Youth Representative to the UN” is part of the program “Young Delegates to the UN”, which unites young people from all over the world and aims to inform young people about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and other international processes underway at the UN.
One of the objectives of the competition is to identify the challenges of young people living under occupation and in general to protect the interests of young people living in Georgia on the UN agenda.
