Giorgi Amilakhvari visit 90th and 21st public school in Tbilisi

Giorgi Amilakhvari the Georgian minister of Education, Science, and Youth visited the 90th and 21st public schools of Tbilisi to get information on ongoing courses.

Tbilisi: Giorgi Amilakhvari the Georgian minister of Education, Science, and Youth visited the 90th and 21st public schools of Tbilisi. During his visit the minister received information on the ongoing training of professional and skilled courses there.

These are schools in the Capital City of Tbilisi where professional educational programs integrated with the national curriculum are being implemented. The professional programs aim to uplift the professional skills of students along with general education.

It is also noteworthy that the minister received information on the current training process here from teachers and students. Notably during his visit the minister was accompanied by his deputies, Tariel Gugava and Tamar Makharashvili  and the head of the professional skills agency  Irina Margishvili.

Giorgi Amilakhvari also had fruitful interactions with students and teachers and talked with them about the new vision and future plans for integrating vocational education in schools. Professional education has been introduced at the initiative of the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Giorgi Amilakhvari, to increase access of students at school leval.

In the current year courses aimed at providing professional education have been introduced in many public schools including Tbilisi’s 90th and 21st  schools. Moreover  at the 90th public school and 11th-grade students can study graphic designing and many more.

Currently  the students of the 21st public school who are  studying in 11th grade have the opportunity to study restaurant, hotel  and hospitality management. This new initiative was taken to prepare students for skilled jobs. Information technology has also opened the gate to opportunities for a highly skilled workforce.

The new government initiatives are providing students with a unique opportunity in schools equipped with modern infrastructure, to master a demanding profession in parallel with general education and to receive both a certificate of complete general education and a diploma of professional qualification.

This year 20 public schools have been implementing vocational education programs integrated with the national curriculum. The number of schools involved in the project will increased in the coming years.
