Giorgi Volski & Beka Odisharia presented certificates to winners of Diaspora grant competetions

Georgia: First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Giorgi Volski, Chairman of the Committee on Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs Beka Odisharia and members of the committee participated in the event of awarding the winners of the Diaspora grant competitions organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The first deputy chairman of the parliament, Giorgi Volski, addressed the young people with a welcome speech, congratulated them on their victory and handed them certificates.

“I welcome the enthusiasm of the young people who are preparing to fulfill the mission of the Young Ambassador. I would like to wish each ambassador to take a deeper look at the situation, what is happening in the world, what is happening in the region, what is difficult for our country today and to think about how to unite and tie together the youth of our country”, said Giorgi Volski.

Beka Odisharia, the chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs Committee of the Parliament, congratulated the young people on their victory and gave them certificates.

“Diaspora is an opportunity, of course, it is a challenge, because due to social conditions and difficulties, they have left and work abroad, and we call them the heroes of our time, although these people, in their bosoms, in their families, saved new generations, those young people who, with the accumulated knowledge and experience They should create a strong Georgia. Their own country and their own people are waiting for them,” said Beka Odisharia.

According to him, the said competition will expand and become even more interesting.

“I would like to congratulate the winners and participants on the victory celebration in Didgori battle. As the Prime Minister repeated the words of our great patriarch, Didgori is still for us. Yes, along with the diaspora, we still have Didgori as a winner,” Beka Odisharia addressed the participants in the event.

154 applicants participated in the competition organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in three grant programs: “Be a young ambassador of your country”, “Support for diaspora initiatives”, “Support for Georgian dance and song ensembles operating abroad”.

A specially selected commission, among which were members of the parliament, representatives of the president’s administration, as well as representatives of various state and international organizations, identified 43 winners.
