Telavi: Gogita Todradze from the Statistical Service of the Republic of Georgia held an information meeting in the Telavi Municipality. The attendees discussed issues related to the 2024 population and agricultural census.
Gogita Todradze is the Executive Director of the National Statistical Service of Georgia (Sakstat). Officials and representatives of different administrative units across the country attended the meeting.
As per the organizers of the information meeting  the main objective of the conference was to inform the representatives of the municipality official regarding the organizational issues of the census.
At the same time in meeting  Gogita Todradze spoke in detail about the goals and tasks of the census, the date of the census, data collection methods, methodology  and the content of the questionnaire  which will include the questions that will need to be answered by all the citizens of the country.
As per the information disclosed by officials familiar with the development  the population census in Georgia will be conducted from November 14 to December 19, 2024. The description of the Census will include 2 stages.
In the first stage the self-registration process will be executed from November 14-23, in all the cities, towns, and villages across the country. The purpose of this registration is to help the statistics office staff. The citizens  with the help of the officials  will fill out the census questionnaires on a pre-prepared web platform.
Similarly  in the second stage of the census process  from November 29 to December 19  up to 11,000 field personnel from the census department will interview the population. The staff members will visit door-to-door throughout Georgia through particular questionnaires and fill the same.
Under the stage two framework  information about households’ agricultural activity will also be collected. On the other hand the preliminary census results will be published in June 2025  and the final results will be available in June 2026.
Notably  the census will provide the latest information about the population’s number, gender-age structure, employment status and education level, health status, sources of livelihood, and housing conditions.
