To provide the best facilities for Guria’s sportspersons, a new Tennis centre has been established in Ozurgeti. This new tennis centre will include three tennis court to facilitate the maximum number of tennis players.
It is worth noting that, in the framework of the project, 3 open tennis courts with stands have been erected. At the same time an administrative building and auxiliary buildings have been built for Tennis player as well. A parking lot was arranged in the vicinity of the courts and landscaping works were carried out to provide a beautiful look to the courts.
After inspecting the new Ozurgeti tennis complex the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze stated “Ozurgeti already has an international-standard tennis complex. It is important that the project be developed according to a systematic plan along with the construction of the complex, the road, drainage systems, and other engineering infrastructure.”
It is also to be noted that the new tennis courts meet all requirements and are equally important for both professional athletes and the young generation, who will find the best conditions here to explore their sports skills.
The tennis center’s infrastructure is fully adapted for the movement and parking of persons with disabilities. All people appreciate this and they opined that it would give wonderful opportunities to people with special needs or disabilities.
At the new tennis center of Ozurgeti, professional and amateur tennis players will be able to train and participate in local and international tournaments. It is also worth noting that the project was implemented within the framework of the “Pilot Regions Integrated Development Program” (PIRDP). This project is being co-financed by the local budget and financial help from the European Union and its cost amounted to 2,275,044 GEL.
The Guria and Ozurgeti Municipality have launched many programs in this direction to provide world-class infrastructure to Tennis lovers. This will be the best facility for tennis players who want to practice daily to compete at international levels.The people of the locality thanked the administration for arranging such facilities in other areas as well.
