Kutaisi: A city-based NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation), HEAD held a successful meeting with parents of children with special needs.
The NGO (Habitat for Equity Achievement and Development ) has been working for many years for the welfare of different vulnerable sections of society to make their lives easier.
The NGO recently shared this information on its official social media handles. The official Facebook page stated, “The Habitat for Equality Achievements and Development organization is very concerned about the vulnerable section of society. We have now successfully organized a meeting with the parents who have children with special needs.”
It further stated that “The meeting was attended by parents of children with special educational needs living in Mtskheta Mtianeti and Zugdidi.
Moreover, kindergarten teachers and many other people who want to contribute to the welfare of such people also attended this significant meeting.”
It is worth noting that at the meeting, the attendees learned about many social programs funded by the local self-government and the central government.
The representative of the NGO also informed them about different measures to improve the theoretical and practical skills of trainees.
Notably this important meeting was held within the framework of the project “Rights-based and needs-oriented therapeutic services for children with special needs”.
The significant project is being financed by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Georgia from the Lithuanian Development Cooperation Program Fund. Habitat for Equity Achievement and Development (HEAD) implements it in many areas of Georgia.
Parents of children with special needs had the opportunity to share their views with experts. The experts while responding to queries, gave tips about caring for children so that they could live normal lives without any discrimination.
The central and regional governments of Georgia have introduced many social schemes. All these schemes aim to uplift children with special needs.
At the end of the event, the parents of the children thanked the NGO and its representatives. They said it was a beneficial session and that they had learned many new things.
