Tbilisi: The Ministry of Health including physician-oncologists and medical institutions officials has set out a list of essential examinations and service rates for chemo/hormone and radiation therapy. These tests are very essentials to diagnose serious threats.
It is worth to note that until now, the medical institution has established the research necessary for oncotherapy itself and in most cases the rates of research in different medical institutions were different. However now this list will have same rate of all tests.
As per the latest information by the order of the Minister of Health the principle and services of the tariff area in all medical institutions, will be paid by the tariffs established by the authorities. The state will fully fund the necessary examinations during the treatment process.
At the same time because of the change, the regulations set will significantly improve the system of both payment and delivery of oncotherapy services. In addition, the mechanism for paying off the debts due to medical services has been regulated which will improve the financial stability of medical staff and clinics and positively impact the quality of patient services.
The health programs will be all funded by state as per following list:
- Necessary tests to be conducted during chemotherapy.
- General blood analysis
- Coagulogram
- Determination of creatinine in the blood
- Functional tests of the liver – ALT
- Functional tests of the liver – AST
- Billirubin ( common )
- Billirubin (live)
- Electrolytes (Ka, Na, Ca)
- Functional tests of the liver – GGT
- Tutephosphatase
- General Analysis of Urine
- During chemotherapy, additional laboratory tests to be carried out according to the patient’s needs as per following.
- Definition of the album in the blood
- Determination of magnesium in the blood
- Necessary tests to be carried out during hormonotherapy:
- General blood analysis
- Determination of creatinine in the blood
- Functional tests of the liver – ALT
- Functional tests of the liver – AST
