A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Georgian ministry of Health and the City Cancer Challenge Foundation.
This is memorandum of cooperation under which in 2025-2026, projects will be implemented to ensure early diagnosis of cancer and high-quality services necessary for the treatment of each patient.
The document was signed by the Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze and the Director of the European Region of City Cancer Challenge Sophie Busman. According to Mikheil Sarjveladze, through intensive cooperation with the Foundation, all necessary medical services will become even more accessible to each patient with oncological disease.
Within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation, the Ministry of Health and City Cancer Challenge have been implementing joint projects since 2019, considering the needs and interests of oncological patients.
It is worth to note that along with the signing of the memorandum, a meeting of the National Oncology Council was held under the leadership of the Minister of Health. The parties discussed the projects envisaged by the cooperation document.
At the same time the parties also discussed the progress of the State Program for the Management of Oncological Diseases and the services available to beneficiaries within its framework. They also discussed the challenges and future in the field of oncology treatment.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Patient Organization and “City Cancer Challenge”. The health ministry representative also said that only awareness at earlier stages can play vital role to protect people from this deadly disease of cancer.
It is to be noted that the cancer is taking lives of many people every year of lakhs of people, moreover almost the people of every country are facing the burdens of this disease as well.
The health ministry representative after signing this memorandum said that this will help us to reach maximum people who need immediate attention. They said in future more such initiative will also be taken.
