Ozurgeti Municipality, Georgia: The Honorary citizens of Ozurgeti City of Georgia were awarded during the New Year’s event in Ozurgeti. The Honorary citizen status was given to ten people.
The Government of Georgia decided to hold a New Year event on the Central Square, which was attended by the Delegate of Guria to the Parliament of Georgia, Vasil Chigogidze, the State Trustee of Guria, Giorgi Urushadze, the Mayor of Ozurgeti, Avtandil Talakvadze, the Chairman of Sakrebulo David, and other representatives of the local government.
“We have given the status of Ozurgeti honorary citizen to ten more distinguished people. I am glad to thank the founder of the Charity Foundation “Georgian Choir“, businessman Vano Chkhartishvili, who donated 5,000 – 5,000 GEL as a reward to the honorable citizens of our city. Thank you to each of you for your support! I wish you health and well-being,” Avtandil Talakvadze said.
This year’s nominees are:
- Ilia Begiashvili – Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. For your contribution to the planning and implementation of several important and priority projects for our municipality;
- Sergo Zakariadze – firefighter-rescue. For the bravery and dedicated service shown in rescue operations; his name is associated with several saved lives;
- Mikheil stayed as an employee of the Guria Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the case of protecting citizens’ safety, for outstanding labor and responsible attitude;
- Nona Kiladze – doctor. For the work done in the medical care process of fellow citizens, to protect the lives and health of citizens;
- Amiran Janelidze – Chairman of Strategic Development and Board of Directors of “Black Sea Arena” and Philharmonic. With his support, Ozurgeti is placed on the world map of the entertainment industry. Planned and executed a digital marketing campaign, which crossed the borders of Georgia and included an audience of up to ten neighboring countries;
- Omiskhan (Omar) Urushadze – Al. Actor of Tsutsunava Dramatic Theater, Honored Artist of Georgia and Cavalier of the Order of Honor. Classical roles in timeless performance and art sphere, for many years of outstanding achievement;
- Ana Kokhreidze – social worker and educator of a small family house. For contribution to child care and re-socialization of beneficiaries. Ana is a mother to eight beneficiaries, distinguished by her love for her work and special responsibility;
- Manana Lomadze – Employee of the Museum Union of the Municipality, historian, scientist and holder of the Order of Honor. “Allegory” of the lost holiday of the old Ozurgeti – for revival;
- Rusudan Takidze – Head of the Department of Chemistry of the Ozurgeti Natural Resources Institute. He has published more than two hundred scientific papers and has received several acknowledgment seals and awards;
- Amiran Girkelidze – employee of Ozurgeti City Hall. After many years of hard work and professionalism in the public sector.
