Based on the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia, the accused of premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances, G.P., wanted by Interpol under a Red Notice, was extradited to Georgia.
The Georgian Prosecution Service shared the details of this heinous crime through its official Facebook Page on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
According to the details provided by the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office, it should be noted that the extradited person is charged with premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances, a crime provided for in Article 109, Subparagraph “m” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The investigation has established that on February 18, 2025, in a residential apartment located on Bezhan Kalandadze Street in Tbilisi, the accused verbally and physically abused the victim and used violence against him, as a result of which the victim received life-threatening injuries and died at the scene. After this, the accused and other persons present at the scene fled.
Legal proceedings for an international search for the accused on the fact of premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances were initiated shortly after his escape, and he was wanted based on an Interpol Red Notice since March 4, 2025. As a result of intensive international efforts by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia, the extradition of G.P., wanted by an Interpol Red Notice, from Russia to Georgia was carried out on February 2, 2026.
It is noteworthy that in the above-mentioned case, law enforcement officers soon arrested three people for failing to report a particularly serious crime, while one of them managed to escape. The court found all four defendants guilty of the charges and sentenced two people to 4 years and 3 months in prison, one person to 5 years, and the absconding person to 7 years in prison. An international search is underway for him.
