Speaking about the meeting between the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, within the framework of the G7 summit, the British administration said that the parties discussed the need to support Ukraine and expressed readiness to help strengthen Ukraine.
According to the spokesman, Boris Johnson and Emmanuel Macron, at the meeting of the G7 summit in Germany, agreed that the conflict in Ukraine is now a turning point, and there is a chance to change the direction of the war.
But British Premier also cautioned Emmanuel Macron that “any attempt to resolve the conflict now will only cause enduring instability”.
“President Macron praised the Prime Minister’s ongoing military support for Ukraine, and the leaders agreed to step up their efforts. The prime minister noted that any attempt to resolve the conflict at this stage would only lead to continued instability and open the way for Putin to manipulate both the sovereign country and the international market.
“The leaders agreed to continue and increase the UK and France to continue to work closely together on defence and security,” the British administration said in a statement.
According to Macron’s office, the dialogue went well, and Johnson expressed a desire to join the “European political community”.
Unlike the President of France Macron, who has continued dialogue with Russian President Putin, Johnson has rejected conversations with the Kremlin leader, who he has called a “dictator” since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
Moreover, in an interview with British media, the British Prime Minister said that the West should have “very, very honest” dialogues on the fallout of the war, including on inflation.
The initiative to form society was put forward by the French leader to create a decision-making structure that includes EU countries and non-EU European states. The G7 leaders also banned imports of gold from Russia yesterday.
