Kakheti hosts summer camp for Ukrainian Adolescents

Kakheti, Georgia: With the financial support of the Georgian government, a summer camp for Ukrainian adolescents will be held in Kakheti from June 15 to July 19, 2024.

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, met with Ukrainian children of servicemembers of the country’s National Guard from Kyiv who joined the summer camp.

PM Kobakhidze also mentioned on his social media (Twitter), “Today, I was delighted as I met the wonderful children from, enjoying a special summer camp provided by our government in Lopota. Together with Minister Giorgi Amilakhvari, we shared a dinner with them and expressed our support to the Ukrainian people.”

The camp hosts pupils from Ukraine and the children of the military personnel of the National Guard, aged between 12 and 16.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Giorgi Amilakhvar, and Head of Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Ukraine, Archil Talakvadze, held a meeting with Ukrainian pupils of the second stream of the camp.

As a gesture of friendship and gratitude, Pupils gave symbolic gifts representing their culture to the Prime Minister and performed songs in Georgian and Ukrainian languages.

For two weeks, Ukrainian pupils will be treated to a rich tapestry of diverse cultural-scientific and entertaining events. The camp’s itinerary includes excursions to Tbilisi, Sighnaghi, and Bodbe, promising a unique and enriching experience.

The summer camp in Kakheti received the children of the military service members of the National Guard who came from the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.

Within the first stream from June 15 to June 29, the summer camp hosted the first stream of Ukrainian adolescents. At the first stage of the camp, there were pupils from Kharkiv.

The organization of this summer camp for Ukrainian pupils is a testament to the strong international cooperation between Georgia and Ukraine. With the financial support of the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and the organizational efforts of the Youth Agency of SP, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this camp is a true reflection of our shared values and commitment to youth development.
