The meetings under village support program are going on in full pace in Khashuri municipality. The meetings are aimed to enhanced public participation in policy making and their implementation.
It is worth to note that the “Village Support Program” is actively underway in Khashuri Municipality and many other municipalities of Georgia also. These meeting are unique opportunity in the hand of people to share their views about future development plans.
In this series of meeting another important meeting held yesterday as well. In this meeting on  February 14, the Mayor of Khashuri Municipality Tengiz Chitiashvili, together with representatives of the City Hall and the City Council, met with the population of the villages included in the Kvishkheti administrative unit.
At the same time citizens and municipal leaders jointly discussed priority problems and identified ways to solve them. At the meetings held within the framework of the Village Support Program, the population outlined the following priorities: a concrete road will be constructed in Bulbulistsikhe, Beghleti and Savanisubani, in Sarmanishviliskari  a concrete road and a railing for the stairs leading down from Tashiskri to Tezeri and Kvishkheti wil be built.
Similarly the population supported the construction of an access road to the cemeteries, in Rusaanthubani The priority was given to the construction of a retaining wall, in the monastery – the construction of drainage channels, in Tashikari it was decided by a majority vote to arrange a public gathering place, in Sative a mini-stadium will be built and in Kipianthubani – a square and children’s attractions will be arranged.
Within the framework of the “Village Support” program, projects nominated by locals at village meetings will be submitted to the municipal council for approval. Within the framework of the Village Support Program, population meetings and consultations will be held in all villages of the municipality as well.
As per villagers these series of meeting are very helpful and expressed hope that the city hall that is municipality administration will take into account their views about developments.
