A 20-year-old student Kristina Diasamidze from Batumi State Maritime Academy this year wins National Volunteer of the Year Award. She shared her success story as well as volunteerism experience.
While sharing her success story she said “It is quite an honour to receive an award that represents your volunteer work. I think that winning the National Volunteer of the Year Award means that your hard work, sincere care and desire to help others are recognized by the wider community.”
“This recognition gives me even more motivation to continue working towards greater goals and set an example for others. Such recognition is not only perceived as a personal achievement but also shows how one person can have a huge impact on society”, stated Kristina Diasamidze.
In addition according to Kristina Diasamidze, Volunteering is a sincere desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others or the world. For me, it is an expression of a person’s will and responsibility, which is not only for others, but also for yourself as it provides new experiences, skill development and emotional satisfaction.

It gives you the opportunity to have your hard work and energy recognized at the national level. When you do what you love with all your heart, then a platform like this helps us reach a wider audience”– Kristina Diasamidze.
Kristina Diasamidze is a third-year student at the Batumi State Maritime Academy, Faculty of Business and Management and is a very active volunteer. She is 20 years old and has been involved in volunteering for 5 years. Over the past year, she has been actively involved in various cultural, sports, cognitive and educational events.
Notably Christina is an active volunteer of the Eco-Club, she participated in the organization of trainings, hikes, camps, educational tours, blood donation campaigns organized by the Blood Bank and the Maritime Academy.
Christina also participated in the large-scale youth festival “Studfest 2024” organized by the LEPL Youth Agency. The aim of that festival was to popularize the volunteering topic among young people.
