Within the framework of the “STEAM education” program, a STEAM camp is being implemented for teachers at the base of Kutaisi International University (KIU).
The main aim of the camp was to strengthen the science, technology, and creative fields in public schools. Notably, the Georgia Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth took the initiative to administer it.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared the glimpses of the camp on its Official Facebook Page on July 15, 2025, Tuesday. The Ministry also shared a small note along with its photographs.
The participants of the second stream of the STEAM camp were hosted by the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Givi Mikanadze.
The minister thanked the teachers for their work and talked about the importance of the STEAM camp project.
Givi Mikanadze addressed the attendees with a welcome speech. He also expressed his warm gratitude towards the management of Kutaisi International University and the Foundation “Kartu” for opening the first STEAM camp, which is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth for teachers, in this extraordinary environment according to world standards. “I would also like to pay my due respect to all the people who authored and then implemented this camp idea, ” he added.
According to him, their goal is to open STEAM clubs in as many schools as possible to engage even more young people in interesting and diverse cognitive activities. He said, ‘We are very hopeful that each of your educational projects in schools is promoting our students’ interest in STEAM.”
Givi Mikanadze also stated, “I believe when you go back to school walls, etc. When you form STEAM clubs, you will take maximum care to ensure that our children develop a special love and interest in STEAM subjects.”
