Baghdati:Â The recent incident of the landslides has caused huge destruction in Nergeti village of Baghdadi municipality. It also costs many human lives. Rehabilitation work has been going in full swing to recover the remaining bodies.
The Weather conditions in many parts of Georgia are unstable. Strong winds and heavy rain have also created flood-like situations in many areas.
Meanwhile heavy rain also disrupted traffic movement and damaged the road leading to low road connectivity. Recently a landslide occurred in the Nergeti village of Baghdadi municipality. It is feared that many people may have lost their lives.
After the landslides occurred the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and many other ministries and departments rushed to the spot to execute the rescue work.
As per the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia the firefighters and other workers of the Ministry as well as of the emergency management services have reached the spot.
They also said that search operations were conducted throughout the night so that relief work could be completed soon.
Meanwhile during the rescue works eight dead bodies have been found so far. Moreover the operation is still on to recover the bodies of the other people who were expected to be buried under the debris.
The Ministry’s representative also said that they had deployed more than two hundred firefighters in rescue operations. Similarly a number of earth-moving machines are working round the clock for the rescue operation. A group of canineologists is also involved in the search and rescue event.
The injured people are being shifted to local hospitals for proper treatment and other medical aid. On the other hand Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Joseb Chelidze also visited the spot to take stock of the rescue operation. He was also accompanied by Temur Mghebrishvili, the head of the emergency management services.
At the same time politicians, political parties, and private organisation expressed their condolences to the families of the affected families.
