Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, is blamed of having the country turned into a bridgehead for the Red Army. As per the sources, on September 20, around 130 mercenaries with the ‘Liga’ Private Military Company (‘Wagner’) reached Minsk from the Russian Federation, which might be deployed to set up provocational acts on the Ukrainian border.Â
Moreover, the local media reported the presence of about 1000 Russian troops in the Belarusian territory, a division of the Iskander missile launchers, along with three S-300 and S-400 divisions, which launch cruise missiles at Ukraine.
As per Belarus’s opposition figure Pavel Latushka, Lukashenko has been involved in modernizing the country’s rail network so that the country gets the chance to deploy up to 120,000 mobilized Russian soldiers in November –December. The information has been confirmed by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense in Ukraine, stating that Belarus is already looking to accept 20000 troops that have been called up for serving in Russia.
The Belarusian President has responded to this, saying, “Belarusians are not a threat to anyone”. However , the agencies have called this to be ‘outright manipulation’.
Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, as he spoke about the matters of the Belarusian border, stated that the Ukrainian authorities completely understand what is currently going on there and assured the public that the developments are under complete control of Ukraine’s forces.
