The Minister of Education and Sports of Adjara, Maia Khajishvili, met with successful athletes and their coaches. The minister congratulated the athletes on their success and talked about plans.
The Ministry of Education and Sports of Ajara shared the glimpses of the meeting on its Official Facebook Page on November 6, 2025, Thursday. The Education Ministry also shared a brief note on the meeting, along with some glimpses.
According to the note shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that during the meeting, the Minister emphasized that the achievements of these young athletes are an important step for the development of sports in Adjara.
Notably, Mamuka Kordzaia, a member of the Adjara team, won first place at the sand wrestling world championship and became the world champion.
It is noteworthy that Jemal Kiladze, the head coach of the Georgian national and Adjara team, was named the best coach of the year. Also, Zurab Mamuladze won the title of vice-champion at the under-20 world championship in sand wrestling.
For the first time in the history of Georgian billiards, Levan Kikalishvili became the winner of the European Youth Championship and the winner of the gold medal.
Greco-Roman wrestling representative Achiko Bolkvadze won 87 kg at the World Championship held in Serbia. In the weight category – bronze, and Anri Khozrevanidze, 67 kg. They won silver medals in the weight category.
Zurab Mskhaladze successfully competed in the U23 European Championship in weightlifting in Albania, the 88 kg category, and won silver and gold medals.
In Farikaoba, Anano Jincharadze successfully competed in the U17 category final at the European Cup and won a gold medal, while Elene Turmanidze won a bronze medal.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister Irakli Abuladze, representatives of the Sports Department, and presidents of sports federations.
