Tbilisi: Representatives of media houses from the People’s Republic of China visited Georgia’s national parks. The visit was organized by the Agency of Protected Areas to promote the region’s tourism potential.
It is worth noting that the Media is an important platform for displaying the main attraction for potential visitors to Georgia. Among the participants of the media tour are representatives of tourism companies that conduct tours in different countries of the world. During their stay the participants of the media tour will learn about the protected areas.
The visiting members will also discuss the possibilities of planning tours in Georgia in the future for a better travel experience. Media representatives will post information about the national parks of Georgia together with photo-video material on popular Chinese social platforms and television space.
Notably the media’s goal is to promote the country’s tourism potential in the Chinese market. It should be noted that China is one of the important target countries for Georgia to attract international tourists.
The statistics of Chinese travelers in Georgia in particular in the protected areas are increasing every year. Besik Kusidi, Chairman of the Protected Areas Agency, and Tamar Khakhishvili Deputy Chairman attended the tour of Tsalki Canyon along with the other delegation members.
Deputy Chairman of the Protected Areas Agency, Tamar Khakhishvili while speaking about the visit of a Chinese group stated that “ This is part of the campaign that the Agency of Protected Areas is carrying out during the current year to promote the protected areas of Georgia in the foreign market.”
He also noted”This year, we participated in the Hong Kong Tourism Fair where we met with several international tourism and media companies. The visit of representatives of Chinese media and tourism companies to the protected areas of Georgia took place in cooperation with the mentioned companies.”
The China media representatives will stay here for the next five days. During their stay they will visit the popular and outstanding protected areas of Georgia, including Kazbegi National Park, Okatse Canyon, Prometheus Cave, Martvili Canyon and Mtirala National Park.
