In Mestia municipality, a unique architectural wedding house will be built. Minister of Justice Paata Salia, along with Samegrelo Upper-Svaneti State Commissioner David Verava, Member of Parliament Viktor Japaridze, Mayor of Mestia Kapiton Zhorzholiani, Ministry of Justice representatives, and representatives of local government, launched a symbolic capsule.

The architectural project of Mestia’s wedding house is designed by a Georgian architect and perfectly combines the unique environment of Svaneti and traditional architectural style.
The project has already gained international recognition. The concept of Mestia’s wedding house became the winner of two prestigious international architectural competitions. At the “Japan International Design Award” held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, the project won the nomination “Best Cultural Architecture Created on Historical Motifs” and “Conceptual Design” in the nomination “Rome Design Award” in Rome, Italy.
The new marriage hall will contribute to both the development of government services in the regions and further enhancement of Mestia as an international tourist destination. Citizens of both Georgia and foreign countries will use the marriage registration service, which will give the region additional tourist potential.
The project is fully in line with the regional development policy goals and considers the creation of modern state infrastructure that will provide citizens with equally accessible, quality, and comfortable services.
The wedding house will be built in Mestia, on the street of the famous Georgian poet Revaz Margiani. The new building will also house a Revaz Margiani House Museum, which will add additional cultural significance to the project.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner of State – Nino Viblian, David Kukhaleishvili, Deputy Minister of Justice Lana Morgoshia, Chairman of the House of Justice Vakhtang Zhvania, and representatives of the local government.
