Georgia: The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, attended the opening ceremony of the Batumi Black Sea International Art Festival with his wife on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
He was honored that, together with UNESCO, this wonderful festival is organized under the patronage of the President of Georgia, because, to establish a worthy position on the cultural map of the modern world and to raise the awareness of the country, art, and in particular, such events are one of the best ways.
According to him, the International Festival of Black Sea Art, in this field, is one of the most important visiting cards of the country.
Mikheil Kavelashvili thanked Eliso Bolkvadze, one of the distinguished and successful Georgian artists, whose greatest efforts, 12 years ago, laid the foundation for the International Festival of Black Sea Art.
It is worth noting that over time, this festival has become one of the most remarkable cultural events for Georgia, which has helped to discover and pave the way for several young talents.
“At the same time, many people were introduced to Georgian and foreign performers, folk ensembles that best represent their countries’ national identity and culture, which promotes new connections between nations. This is particularly relevant in today’s war-torn world,” he noted.
The Minister also thanked the organizers of the festival. Also, he wished good luck to the participants of the festival.
During the event, he also visited the photo exhibition “Study of the Caucasus and the Caucasian world 1995-2015”, Japanese Georgian and Tokyo Metropolitan University professor Hirotake Maeda.
The opening ceremony of the International Black Sea Art Festival was attended by the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, members of the Government of Adjara, Members of the Parliament of Georgia, Representatives of the Supreme Council, the Judiciary, and the Diplomatic Corps.
