Mtskheta Municipality, Georgia: To improve the local road networks in the area, the Mtskheta Municipality’s government is actively working on street infrastructure projects. The construction process was in its last stage.
The Mayor of Mtskheta Municipality Dimitri Zurabishvili visited the construction sites and inspected the ongoing works. The mayor shared glimpses of her visit on her official Facebook page along with some details about the ongoing infrastructure works of the municipality.
It is noteworthy that, along with the mayor, the Member of Parliament of Georgia and Mtskheta-Mtianeti delegate Dimitri Khundadze, Mtskheta-Mtiani State Trustee David Nozadze, and Chairman of Mtskheti City Council Giorgi Eloshvili also got acquainted with the city’s infrastructure works.
According to the details provided by the municipality’s mayor, it should be noted that the rehabilitation of the footpaths, railings, and retaining walls is underway on Military Street.
After the inspection works, Dmitri Zurabishvili also talked with the residents of the Mtskheta Municipality. She said throughout the conversation that road infrastructure had been created on the route to the former prison. Additionally, the area beneath the former prison will be furnished, including a parking lot and a square. The space has a green lawn in the dividing lane, iron-concrete railings, and asphalt. The area will be furnished with flower plants, lounge seats, and ornamental outdoor lighting.
It is to be noted that after the completion of the project, another beautiful tourist space will be added to the city of Mtskheta. The new infrastructure has made it necessary to move outdoor light poles at some locations (near the Old Jail), which will be completed before the project is finalized.
The municipality is also working and preparing for the implementation of the 3rd phase of greening, which will greatly beautify our ancient city.
It should be noted that within the scope of the project, the rehabilitation works of the fountain in the center of Mtskheta were carried out. Parking and walkways, new light poles, and benches have been installed near the Monastery of the Mothers.
The Mayor appreciated the workers involved in the street infrastructure works for their efforts in prioritizing the safety of the citizens of the municipality who are still working to make better road links in the regions.
The municipality’s residents expressed their gratitude for the implementation of the project and thanked the mayor for making certain efforts to improve the roadway system of the region.
