Akhaltsikhe: Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, the director of the national parliamentary library of Georgia visited central library there. He was accompanied by his deputy Mirian Khositashvili during this visit.
At the same time mayor of Akhaltsikhe municipality Irakli Lazarashvili, First Deputy Ilia Zardiashvili, the State Governor, representatives of local self-government and the union of cultural institutions of the republic of georgia were also present along with others.
They all got acquainted with the current situation in the library from staff members working there.
Moreover the director and other held an introductory meeting with the employees of libraries and youth centres. The parties discussed active cooperation in the library sector and agreed to implement joint projects in the future.
Irakli Lazarashvili thanked the Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia for his visit to the municipality and support.
In turn, Konstantine Gamsakhurdia positively assessed the activities of the association of cultural institutions, wished them success and attended an impressive event. It is noteworthy that the book fund in the libraries of the municipality is updated annually.
This year, considering the interests of readers, the association of cultural institutions has purchased a variety of literature of various genres, which will be transferred to all operating libraries.
The director during visit expressed his happiness about the working of library. According to him this is great to see that library has books related to every genre of interest of reader of every age.
He lauds library staff for providing world class library experience to vising readers. He urged mayor and other higher representative of ministry to work hard to best best facilities of book readers.
