Georgia: The National Statistical Service of Georgia presented the portal for the population and agricultural census for 2024.
Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Sakstat, addressed the guests gathered at the presentation with a welcome speech. According to its statement, the portal allows users to see any information about the 2024 population and agricultural census in one space.
The portal combines topics such as the goals, tasks, and methodology used for the 2024 description. The web platform also includes questions, the legal basis for the description, and other issues.
A link to the electronic platform for self-registration is built on the portal, which will be activated between November 14 and November 23. By self-registration method, the population can independently fill out an electronic description questionnaire without an interviewer at their preferred time and space. After completing the, he will be given a unique code to present to the electronic questionnaire interviewer.
The population and agricultural census 2024 will be held from November 14 to December 19.
The description consists of two stages: in the first stage, from November 14 to November 23, data will be collected by self-registration, and in the second stage, from November 29 to December 19, data will be collected from Sakstat interviewers using a tablet on the doorstep principle.
Based on the description’s results, accurate and up-to-date data will be available for the population, its gender-age composition, different demographic and socio-economic characteristics, and the agricultural activity of households at the self-governing units and settlements level.
The population and agricultural census is held once every 10 years.
