Georgia: With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and the initiative of ensemble “Mardve”, the anniversary evening of Ramin Mikaberidze, the singer and lutenist, was held in the great hall of Rustaveli National Theater.
The event was attended by Minister of Culture and Sports Thea Tsulukiani, State Trustee of Guria Giorgi Urushadze, Mayor of Chokhatauri Municipality David Sharashidze, founders of Foundation “Georgian Choir” Vano Chkhartishvili and Nana Gotua, Lali Seturidze, wife of Anzor Erkomaishvili, clergymen and other guests.
The following ensembles participated in the event: “Rustavi,” “Erisioni,” “Marthve,” first and current generation, Patriarch’s godchildren choir, “Choir,” Batumi Culture Center Boys’ Ensemble, Sons’ Folklore Ensemble, “Krtsanisi,” and Mikaberidze family ensemble. They performed Georgian multi-voice songs with Mr. Ramin.
On the screen, viewers saw the memories of prominent Georgian artists, Anzor Erkomaishvili, Gomar Sikharulidze, Bidzina Kvernadze, Tengiz Archvadze, Kakhi Kavsadze, and others, about the life and work of Ramin Mikaberidze. Giorgi Sikharulidze directed the evening.

Ramin Mikaberidze performed in the Georgian State Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance (later “Erisioni,” 1967-1978), the Georgian State Educational Ensemble “Rustavi” (1979-2002), and the boys’ vocal ensemble “Gordela.” He, together with Anzor Erkomaishvili, will play a great role in the upbringing and creative development of new generations of “Mardve.” The generations raised by him are now successfully engaged in folklore groups and already lead ensembles themselves.
It is noteworthy that Ramin Mikaberidze formed the State Children’s Folklore Ensemble in Batumi and shared Georgian culture with several generations. Together with her daughter, Maia Mikaberidze, he created the children’s folklore group “Chant.”
Ramin Mikaberidze led the group of folk singers at the Republican House of Culture of the Blind Society of Georgia (1967-1997), the boys’ vocal ensemble at the Republican House for Education Workers (1970-1980), the Georgian folklore state ensemble “Tbilisi” (1978-1985), the children’s folk ensemble “Martve” (1978-1990), the Chokhatauri district boys’ vocal folk ensemble “Nabeghlavs” (19 80-1990), union with the vocal ensemble “Didgori” of sons with “Mioni” (1985-1995), Ensemble “Iberia” (1992-1998), Batumi Children’s State Folklore Ensemble (1998-2006), Batumi Boys’ Vocal Ensemble (2000-2005), Children’s Folk Choir – “Choir” and “Patriarch’s Godchildren”, Boys’ Folk Ensemble “Chona” (2006-2012), Chokhosanta Ensemble with the Patriarchate (2010-2014), Boys’ Vocal ensemble “Krtsanis” of the Blind Union.
Ramin Mikaberidze’s work is appreciated and has received several awards. He is the People’s Artist of Georgia, the State of Georgia, Albert Schweitzer International, and Zakaria Paliashvili Awards, as well as the Prize “Saguramo” Laureate in the nomination “Art”; awarded with the Order of Honor in 2014 he was awarded the Knight of Georgian Culture, in 2015 – the Award of the Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia – the title “Kurumi of Art,” in 2018 – entirely Georgian Catholic-Patriarch, His Holiness and Eminence, Ilia II, Award “Tree of Kindness”. His name is included in both Georgian and world music encyclopedias.
On December 17, 2019, a star named after Ramin and Maia Mikaberidze was opened in front of the Tbilisi State Concert Hall. Ramin Mikaberidze is an honorary citizen of Tbilisi, Batumi, and Chokhatauri.
