“Kobuleti already has a new kilometre-long boulevard, which was built under the initiative of the Prime Minister within the framework of the “Renewed Regions” program. More than 8 million GEL has been invested in the project. It should be noted that appropriate space, bicycle paths, sports infrastructure, recreation, engineering networks, and irrigation water systems were organized for people of all ages; in fact, this is a new space that created new opportunities for both residents and vacationers. Another interesting space and point of attraction was created. I congratulate Kobuleti, and this is only the first stage, which will definitely continue. We remind you that the mentioned program is being successfully implemented in all 63 municipalities. Only in the first stage, 500 million GEL investment is determined.”

Within the framework of the “Renewed Regions” program, the rehabilitation and beautification works of the coastal strip in Kobuleti started in the summer of 2021. The cost of the work amounted to 8,100,000 GEL.

According to the project, a boulevard was organized on the 1 km long coastline from Achkva River to Kintrish River. A dividing wall, a 2.5-meter wide bicycle path and a 4-meter wide pedestrian path were built along the entire length of the boulevard. Recreational and commercial zones have been arranged near the footpath. Attractions were set up in children’s entertainment spaces, and sand volleyball and sand football fields were arranged in the sports area. Adapted sanitary facilities were built in the new boulevard, and a pedestrian bridge was built to connect with the old boulevard.

The coastline of the new boulevard was completely unusable for vacationers until the works were completed. Today, the renovated boulevard, equipped according to modern standards, will be used both by the residents living in its vicinity and by the guests of the resort.

The work of the first stage of the “Renewed Regions” program is at the stage of completion in 63 municipalities of the country. More than 500 buildings and about 80 parks and squares are being rehabilitated. As part of the works, the doors and windows of the buildings were replaced with new windows; the energy efficiency component was strengthened with thermal insulation, the adjacent footpaths were arranged, the squares were greened, the irrigation system was built, and children’s entertainment attractions were installed and others.

The 4-year program of “Renewed Regions” was launched in 2021 at the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia. Projects to be implemented within the program were selected with the direct involvement of municipalities. The benchmark cost of the first stage of the program was 500 million GEL. In some municipalities, the works of the second stage of the program have already started.
