Mikheil Sarjveladze noted, “Unfortunately, it seems that Georgia has lost a lot of time in the previous years in terms of proper management of the healthcare sector.” Someone was masking it well; someone would be mistreated here and there, but in the end, until the end of 2012, the Georgian healthcare system was governed by the principle that spending money on patient welfare was considered to throw money into a black hole.

“According to Bidzina Ivanishvili’s generation, during his prime Minister’s period, the Universal Health Care Program was started in 2013, which put the health care system in Georgia on the right and irreversible development tracks. It can be said that the serious approach to realizing the constitutional right to health care in Georgia started at this time, and this program is also the main backbone of the development of the health care system,” said Mikheil Sarjveladze.

The Minister of Health, as proof of his statement, brought state expenditure on health care, which amounted to 450 million in 2012 and will amount to more than 1.62 billion GEL in 2024.

“The difference is that you’ll see that it’s not just impressive; we’re talking about completely different approaches.” For years, the growing dynamics have been maintained in this direction”, – said the Minister of Health.

They remind you that the Minister of Health has appeared in the Parliament in the format of the Minister’s Hour. Mikheil Sarjveladze, in the legislative body, provided information about the Ministry’s activities, achievements, challenges, and future plans.
