New Cinema Hall is hosting Retrospective “Modern Georgian Cinema”

On the initiative and organization of the National Cinema Center, from November 8 to December 24, 2023, the Blue Cinema Hall of the Cinema Academy is hosting the retrospective “Modern Georgian Cinema”.

This time, the audience saw director Otar Shamatava’s film “Ursus”, after which a discussion was held with the participation of the members of the film’s creative group.

The Retrospective opened on November 8, 2023, with Levan Zakareishvili’s film “Tbilisi-Tbilisi” was recently completed, and the restored version was seen by viewers on the big screen for the first time. The director’s short film “Father” was also featured.

The goal of Retrospective is to popularize modern Georgian Cinema. This is why it’s free to attend the movie screenings. The film screening is in the Blue Cinema Hall of the Georgian Cinema Academy from Monday to Friday at 19:00 and on weekends at 17:00.

The program features 36 Georgian films created between 2005 and 2023.

In addition to film screenings, after weekend sessions, there are discussions with the participation of members of creative groups.
