Georgia: The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia calls on Tbilisi State University to complete the 2021-2022 academic year in hybrid mode.

In addition, the Ministry calls on the TSU leadership to take maximum account of the situation of students – to ensure the development of vacancies in student accommodation and placement of students.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has issued a statement regarding the protest of the students of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, who demand the end of the 2021-2022 academic year in hybrid mode.

The Education and Science Ministry also called on the leadership of Tbilisi State University to take maximum account of the situation of students – to ensure the free space in the student dormitory, their placement and the end of the 2021-2022 academic year in a hybrid mode.

As you know, universities make their own decisions regarding the educational process within their autonomy. The Ministry hopes that Tbilisi State University will take into account the demands of the students as much as possible and will make the appropriate decision, the Ministry said in a statement.

Auditorium teaching has been resumed at Tbilisi State University since May 2. Students requested that the current semester be extended in a hybrid format. The reason given by the students is the increased prices of apartments, and they say that they can not afford to rent.
