Georgia: Employees of emergency management services complete training

The firemen and rescuers of the emergency management service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have completed the training of rescue operations in the mine. This was held to keep ready the staff of emergency management services for any sudden emergencies.

Tbilisi: The firemen and rescuers of the emergency management service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have completed the training of rescue operations in the mine. This was held to keep ready the staff of emergency management services for any sudden emergencies.

Notably as part of the training the participants were introduced to such important issues as the role and responsibilities of a mine rescue instructor , risk assessment, rescue scenario preparation and training sessions. The training included both theoretical and practical components.

As a part of the theory training of session the attendees of the meeting learned the role of risk management. They came to know the measures for the preparation of the scenario and the importance of these measures as a collective effort as well.

The training of trainers was organized by the United Nations Office of Project Services (UNOPS) and with the financial support of the European Union, within the framework of the project – “Promoting the development of technical capabilities to ensure human security”.

The mentioned project is part of the “European Union for Security, Accountability and Fight Against Crime in Georgia (SAFE)” initiative and has been implemented in close cooperation with the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia since 2020. Its purpose is to promote effective and accountable governance of state agencies involved in the security sector of Georgia.

There was also a presentation for the trainers on this occasion as well. During the practical session the miners were all equipped with the necessary rescue operation equipment.After the completion of the training session said that this was a productive session. They have learned lot of new things about the emergency situation.

They said that such kind of training sessions must be held regularly. According to them the regular training session will help to understand the new technology and latest equipment as well.
