As the whole world is celebrating International Women’s Day. Many cities in Georgia are also organizing the event to mark this historic and significant day.
Similarly an impressive important event was held recently which was attended by Mayor Givi Zavutashvili who congratulated the delegates especially all the women on this special occasion as well.
It is to be specifically mentioned that in the past year the government of Georgia with the coordination of many non-government organizations has been working to make the lives of women more respectful and dignified.
At the beginning of the event the mayor was welcomed by the representative of the municipality. They gave the bouquet to the mayor and thanked him for his visit at this event.
The Munincpalltiy also took to their social media handles and provided the information in this regard. They stated in a Facebook post “Mayor of Kvarli Municipality Givi Zavutashvili congratulated women employed in the City Hall on International Women’s Day, March 8, wishing them health, happiness and all the best”.
Meanwhile the social media users also appreciated the Mayor for his contribution towards the women’s welfare.
During the meeting with women officials and employees of the office, the mayor of the municipality said that women have a great role to play in the development of any country.The mayor also appreciated the contribution of women in the country for contributing to each field of life.
According to the mayor the local administration as well as the central governments are always keen to introduce and implement the program which will make the way for the progress for women.
Other key speakers of the event also stressed that no country in the world can make the desired progress unless and until they provide better opportunities to women in the country.
In the last Mayor also thanked the officials and representatives especially women members for the warm reception and grand welcome.
