Tbilisi: Tea Tsulukiani the Minister of Culture of Georgia visited the Gogerbashvili House Museum to take stock of reconstruction work. She got here the information regarding the first stage of rehabilitation works of Jacob Gogebashvili House-Museum.
Georgian Minister of Culture and Sports Tea Tsulukiani visited Jakob Gogebashvili’s House-Museum in Variani. She was accompanied by the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development Giorgi Botsvadze the head of the Department of Access to Culture, Alexander Grigalashvili and sculptor Gia Japaridze, the Ist stage of rehabilitation works of the House-Museum.
The minister together with the director of the museum Natia Aduashvili, also visited the renovated exhibition hall. She had a great interaction with the staff at the house museum.
It is to be specifically mentioned that in the last year during the first phase of rehabilitation works with the support of the Ministry of Culture the parquet was replaced in the museum’s exhibition hall. At the same time the wooden railing was renewed on the first floor and now the construction of wet spots for visitors is underway.
Moreover during the second phase of the work a heating system will be installed and the roof rehabilitation will be completed with funding from the Ministry. Similarly to create a better environment in the museum and offer better conditions for visitors the current services will be improved appropriate service forms for younger visitors of the museum and better working conditions for employees will also be improved as per the ministry officials as well.
It is worth noting that the ministry system has several house museums of great Georgian achievers. This Jakob Gogebashvili’s House Museum is one of the distinguished museums of Georgia which was opened on December 14, 1958. Hundreds of thousands of people have visited the house museum since its opening. The number of visitors has increased significantly over the last two years. Only in 2023,40976 visitors visited the museum as per the official data released by the government departments.
