On the occasion of Chemist Day, a significant event in the academic calendar, the faculty members and students of STU( Technical University of Georgia) embarked on a meaningful visit to Rustavi AzotIndorama.
This visit to one of the largest chemical enterprises producing mineral fertilizers and industrial chemicals was not only a celebration of the profession but also a valuable educational experience.
During this visit the company representatives generously shared their knowledge about the important chemical processes taking place in the enterprise. We are particularly grateful to the executive director, Levan Burdiladze, and the general director for their warm congratulations to our future chemists on their professional day.
Moreover Levan Burdiladze talked about the company’s various present-day challenges whereas Jay Prakash Jaju provided them with important information about the Indorama company. Associate Professor Liana Targamadze Acting Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology conveyed the best wishes of the Rector ,Academician Davit Gurgenidze to the company’s representative.
Speaking specifically on this special day University representative added : “On behalf of STU, we would like to congratulate the management team and specialists of “Rustavis Azoti,” and we would like to convey the warm congratulations and best wishes of the Rector, Academician Davit Gurgenidze.”
We feel proud that most of the “Rustavis Azoti” employees are former students of our University. We are very hopeful that joint collaboration with the expenses and other industrial units will bring many positive results for the university and its students.
As we conclude this visit, we are filled with a strong desire to further our collaboration with Rustavi AzotIndorama. We envision implementing student internship programs and launching innovative research projects that involve our students, researchers, and enterprise specialists. This collaborative effort is not only beneficial for our institution but also for the development of our country.
It is to be noted that after the meeting, the students eagerly received information on the ongoing chemical process in the University as well. Similarly, in various workshops of this chemical enterprise, the students observed the processes of ammonia synthesis, ammonia water, sodium cyanide, nitric acid, and sulfuric acids. They also learned about the process for the production of mineral fertilizers with the adoption of new technology.
After the visit’s conclusion, the students expressed hopes that this was a productive meeting and that it would make their experience more practical as well.
