The rehabilitation work is undergoing in the Khashuri Municipality to ensure the uninterrupted supply of water and clear the drainage system. The Municipality’s representative also met to discuss the construction work.
The working meeting was held in the administrative building of Khashuri municipality. This important meeting was attended by Tengiz Chitiashvili, the mayor of Khashuri municipality, along with Zviad Kurdadze, the first deputy mayor, Giorgi Papiashvili, the head of the infrastructure development and improvement service, the United Water Supply Company of Georgia.
The representative of the Turkish company that won the international tender was also part of meeting. Municipal meetings used to be held regularly to discuss certain details and the proper project implementation.
At the same time, meetings are also periodically held with residents of different areas and their opinions are taken for implementing the people-friendly policies as well.
It is also worth noting that the municipality’s leaders and company representatives asked many people to participate in the consultation process so that their views could be implemented in the policies.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the water supply and drainage systems in Khashuri have become outdated which causes problems for the locals. Water is supplied to the city for several hours during the day but outdated systems create problems.
On the other hand after the completion of the large-scale project approximately 30,000 people in the city of Khashuri will benefit from the 24-hour water supply. It is also worth mentioning that the “Water Supply and Drainage of the City of Khashuri” project is being implemented with the financial support of the French International Development Agency (AFD).
The other project that will be executed includes the construction of streets. Khashuri Municipality’s City Hall will design the streets and the water project will be implemented. It will gradually arrange the road infrastructure in the other category as well.
The municipality representative also announced that all households will be provided with clean drinking water after the project’s rehabilitation work is completed.
