Georgian festival completes its third week with several activities

The Georgian festival has completed three full weeks. It hosted a number of entertainment, cultural, and sports activities, and many people participated as the entry is free for this month long event.

Tbilisi: The Georgian festival has completed three full weeks. It hosted a number of entertainment, cultural, and sports activities, and many people participated as the entry is free for this month long event.

The event was held at the Levili historical estate during the third festival week. The festival, which is dedicated to Georgian art, culture, and sports is being held for the second time in Levili Manor. The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia is the main organizer of the festival  with the support of the Government of Georgia. Other supporters of the event include the National Wine Agency and Geowine Trading LLC.

The festival was started on May 24 and will continue until July 14. Many events are being held during this  one-month long festival.  During  the third week on June 9  the ” Horol ” event was held with a traditional martial arts demonstration. The other events included the “Demonstrations,” and musician Lela Nkeuri also displayed his artistic skill to the audience.

Similarly, the  Rustavi State Professional Drama Theater  named after Lortkifanidze  presented the play. A  meeting was held with Georgian cartoonists  Zaliko Sulakauri and Niko Kemularia.

On the other hand  a master class on dyeing yarn with natural dyes and weaving rugs was held with the participation of many people. The  Poet Irma Beridze, laureate of the “Ana” literary prize  gives a presentation on his work.

Notably  the festival witnesses the attendance of more than 700 artists and athletes. Many famous representatives of culture and sports, folklore and choreographic ensembles of different regions, municipal state theaters, and creative groups participate in the festival.

This year  competitions are being held at the festival under different categories, such as rugby, football, fencing, chess, Georgian martial arts, etc. However, for the first time, wood craftsmen, writers, and students of the Academy of Arts participate in the festival.

It is also to be noted that the students of the Academy of Arts were the guests of the first creative residence established in Georgia by the Ministry of Culture, and the works they created here will be permanently placed in the estate park.
