Nino Tsilosani meets school students of Dusheti Municipality

Nino Tsilosani, who is Chairman of the Standing Parliamentary Council for Gender Equality held a meeting with students of Dusheti Municipality schools to make them aware on Gender Equality.

Dusheti: Nino Tsilosani, who is Chairman of the Standing Parliamentary Council for Gender Equality held a meeting with students of Dusheti Municipality schools. This was aimed at raising awareness among students on the issue of Gender Equality.

Speaking on the occasion Nino Tsilosani talked about the necessity of women’s involvement in political and economic life. She said that only a financially independent woman can contribute to the creation of a well-socialised society. At the same time, the participation of Women in political activities was also highlighted.

She stated that as most decision-making powers are vested with the political class, women should also come forward to become part of this process of decision-making. When decision-making will be influenced by women, there is a chance that more women-centric policies will come into force.

Speaking further, she also focused on the types of discrimination based on gender and ways to eliminate violence against women. Women are victims of large-scale domestic violence incidents in Georgia. In recent days Georgia has been actively involved in sixteen-day campaigns.

This dedicated session also witnessed a presentation. During the presentation she explains to children on various aspects of Gender Discrimination.

All the schoolchildren listen to Key speaker very carefully and attentively. They also had some queries which were answered by the Key speaker of the event.

Nino Tsilosani specifically stated, “We have talked about gender equality and legislative initiatives that significantly increase the participation of women in various fields of Georgia. The young people played a cognitive game, and we also gave symbolic gifts to the winners on behalf of the Gender Equality Council”.

Georgia and a large number of other countries took part in international sixteen-day campaigns. Under that sixteen-day campaign conference, seminars and meetings are organised to apprise the General Public on the issue of Gender equality and other issues relating to women

Nino Tsilosani also encouraged the school students to be part of Change In Georgia. She stated that with the active participation of youth, the awareness campaign can go up to new horizons.

More awareness means more improvement in the social environment for women. At the same time, strict laws are also a need of the hour to make the world women-friendly.

During the meeting, these Young people visited the Parliament Palace and got information on various aspects of the Georgian parliament. They were very happy to know the rich history and legacy of the Georgian parliament.
