A workshop on “The Application of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements” was commenced at the Academy of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. The event was organized by the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
The Ministry of Finance of Georgia shared the glimpses of the workshop on its official Facebook Page on June 1, 2026, Monday. The Georgian Ministry also shared a small note about the event along with its glimpses.
The meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister of Finance
Mamuka Baratashvili, who stressed the importance of international tax cooperation and the role of the use of tax agreements in modern international economic relations.
The aim of the working meeting is to discuss practical issues related to the use of tax agreements, share experiences among participating countries, and deepen knowledge of current issues in the international tax sphere.
Representatives of both the Ministry of Finance and Revenue Service of
Georgia, as well as tax authorities of different countries are participating in the event. The working session is led by OECD experts who will share international practices and experiences on the use of taxation agreements with participants.
It is noteworthy that a working meeting of a similar format in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and
OECD is being held in Georgia for the first time, which presents an important opportunity to deepen international cooperation and share knowledge and experience in the tax field.
