Tbilisi: The representatives the non-governmental organisations has once again blamed law enforcement agencies for illegally confiscating phones and other essentials articles.
The large number of protesters have been demanding for recalling the order of suspending talks for integration into Europe Union till 2028. The official and representatives of almost ten non-government organisations said that Many people who were arrested under the preventative laws alleged confiscation of their mobile phones and other essential articles as well.
The articles besides mobile phones also includes headphones, laptops , laptop bags, house and car keys, ID cards, wallets and other things. It was also claimed by some people that law enforcement official asked them to disclose password of their electronic gadgets.
At the same time, it was also alleged by them that when some of them refused to give the password they were tortured by the officials of law enforcement agencies as well. When detained person were released from custody, they were not given their phones and other essential articles.
Notably on the time of their arrests the proper procedure was also not followed as required by law for the confiscation of their phones and other essential articles.Some confiscated phones were found to be switched off in Gori.
At the same time some of phones were also reflected signal from the administrative buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Parliament and other state agencies. The officials of NGO’s also alleged that all above facts proved that the rules were not followed by law enforcement agencies at the time of arrest and confiscating their phones and other articles illegally as well.
