Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia has accused President Salome Zourabichvili of supporting the opposition party’s narratives. He said that the President is acting as the chief of the opposition United National Movement Party instead of the country.
While speaking specifically on the President the Georgian PM stated that “ President Zourabichvili is blindly acting as UNM party President instead of president of the country.” The harsh comment of the Prime Minister came on Monday in reaction to the President’s anti ruling-party stand on many occasions as well.
PM Irakli Kobakhidze claimed President Salome Zourabichvili has become the facto President of the opposition United National Movement party. He also alleges that the President’s actions are “in tune with the opposition narrative to defame the ruling regime without any solid proof.”
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze also noted that Georgian President Zourabichvili has lost her credibility and become a puppet of the opposition party. Instead of working for the people’s welfare she is accusing the Government of the Georgian Dream Party on behalf of the opposition forces.
The PM also underlined how the president was found guilty of the violation of the constitution. The breach of the constitution was observed by the Constitutional Court of Georgia through unauthorized foreign visits in 2023, she went totally against the conditions, and later on Salome Zourabichvili honored the primacy and legitimacy of the Constitutional Court.
In addition the Prime Minister added that due to the constitutional violation it has become clear that Salome Zourabishvili is the first President of Georgia who violates the constitution and brings the country down.
According to Prime Minister Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili she is supporting the false narrative of the opposition parties only because the United National Movement did not support her impeachment and now the President is just rewarding the UNM Leaders with his stand.
As per the Prime Minister due to eroded credibility the President’s words have lost relevance and no one cares what she said. It is to be added that the relationship between the Georgian President and the ruling regime got a setback when the president vetoed the foreign agents’ law. The foreign agents law passed by the government was widely opposed by the opposition parties.
