Irakli Kobakhidze the Prime Minister of Republic of Georgia who was in Iran to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the new President, met Masoud Pezeshkian. Masoud Pezeshkian has been appointed as the new president of Iran as the last one died in a helicopter crash.
Georgian Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze visit Iran accompanied by Levan Davitashvili. Levan Davitashvili is the First Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development. Besides the Georgian representative delegation of 70 other foreign countries were also present during the ceremony which was held at the Iranian Majles.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze already congratulated the new Iranian President when later assumed the charge and extended his best wishes. However later on a bilateral meeting was held between both leaders.
The Iranian president commenting on the meeting stated “Iran is keen to strengthen the bilateral and multilateral relations with the maximum number of countries of the region and the world. Measures to improve the relations with neighbors are the priority of Iran and its 14th government.”
It is to be added that the Islamic Republic News Agency while giving details on the meeting added ” The Iranian president said the cordial relation between two countries is a win-win situation not only for both the country but also for the entire region.
The new President Pezeshkian highlighted his government’s commitment to developing good relationships with countries across the globe. Moreover better relations will help stabilize the entire Caucasus region.”
On the other hand the Georgian PM Kobakhidze said “Iran is a very strategic partner of Georgia. Iran can play a crucial role in the stability of the entire region. The Georgia is looking for better realions with not only Iran but with all other coutries of region.”
Georgian Prime Minister also observed that the bilateral relations between both countries have reached new heights with daily improvements in people-to-people interactions and cooperation. It is worth noting that the new president of Iran has the image of a liberal leader who wants to establish smooth and friendly relations with the countries of the region and with the countries outside West Asia.
