Poland: Exibitionn to show Georgia’s cultural heritage opens at Krakow

A large-scale exhibition has been opened in the National Museum of Krakow in Poland  by the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports with the assistance of the Cultural Ministry of Poland.

A large-scale exhibition has been opened in the National Museum of Krakow in Poland. This has been opened by the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports with the assistance of the Cultural Ministry of Poland.

Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Tea Tsulukiani was present along with other ministers and dignitaries at the occasion. These include the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Maia Khajishvili, Ambassador of Emergency and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Poland Diana ZhgentiDirector of the State Museum of Art Nika Akhalbedashvili.

Director of Museum of History of Palace of Arts and Culture of Georgia and curator of the exhibition Gi Orgi Kalandia, Teona, director of the “Adjara Museum” Zoidze, director of the Ethnographic Museum named after Giorgi Chitaia Nino Chipashvili, employees of museums of Tbilisi were also present on the occasion.

At the same time  the exhibition was attended by the representative of the President of Poland Piotr Czwick, Deputy Secretary of State of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Marta Tsienkovski, Director of the National Museum of Krakow Andrzej Scherski, Professor of the University of Gdansk and Curator of the exhibition Miroslav Piotr Kruk, staff of the Krakow Museum and other guests.

The Georgian Minister Tea Tsulukiani speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition said that the the visitor will get acquainted with the rich culture of Georgia, masterpieces of Georgian art and distinctive pieces of martial arts. The work of the best representatives of Georgian modernism will also be displayed at the event.  

It is to be added that the fourteen  Georgian museums from the capital as well as from the regions are participating in the exhibition, including Khariton Akhvlediani Adjara State Museum and Batumi Archaeological Museum. Moreover several world-class museums also participate in the exhibition.

At the opening event the exhibition guests watched the performance of the artist on  Georgian folk songs and enjoyed traditional dances. The exhibition will go up to  September 15, 2024.
