Irakli Garibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, has held a Government session. This was to discuss the key issue of the country and to initiate the required steps in this direction.

Other issues that were discussed involve helping families living in hard living conditions. To help these families, a dedicated program has been initiated. Under the program, up to 1000 families in the hard living conditions of the country will be given new living spaces by the government of Georgia.

The total budget amount of the program is 50 000 000 GEL.The program will have the aim to support socially vulnerable sections of society, homeless families with many children and create decent living conditions for them.

It is worth mentioning that the beneficiaries of the program will include the family with three or more minors whose members have been registered on the social services agency’s unified database of socially vulnerable families.

At the same time, the families whose members are not registered on the IDP database of the country, as well as the Migrant families can benefit from the program.

Similarly if a homeless family member has not already received housing from the state or adequate cash compensation to purchase housing, he will also be eligible for the housing facility under the scheme.

As per the latest information, after evaluating this and other criteria, the relevant commission will decide on the issue of housing for families. Moreover, the program will last until the end of 2025. Families will be settled in any administrative-territorial unit of Georgia with better housing facilities.
