Tbilisi: The Georgian Prosecution office has enhanced the charges against the two accused. They were accused of inflicting international physical damage to the victim’s health.
According to the information the incident took place in the village of Aten, which is under the jurisdiction of Gori Municipality. The special investigation services conducted the investigation. The preliminary investigation established that on July 29 Â serious injuries were caused to the victim in the village of Aten as a result of the ill intention.
The accused have inflicted serious injuries on inspectors of the Department of Special Tasks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. After the conclusion of the preliminary investigation both the accused.
However further investigation revealed that the offense under the other section of the code of criminal were required to  be imposed due to the gravity of the offence. So, the Prosecutor’s Office has increased the charges against the two persons accused of the intentional serious damage to health that occurred in the village of Aten.
The prosecutor’s office initially charged both of them with detailed charges under the third part of Article 117 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Similarly  subsection “L” (intentional, serious, life-threatening health damage)  which provides for imprisonment from 9 to 13 years  was also imposed.
The crime is very serious and demanded strict punishment as per the officials of the prosecution office, so they decided to charge the accused under the other provisions of the law as well.
In the mentioned criminal case at the first stage of the investigation one accused was charged under Article 117, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (severe, deliberate injury to health). Another accused was charged in the absence of IB under Article 376, Part 1 .
The both accused have been remanded in custody as a preventive measure so that they can not cause any damage to the evidence or the witness of the cases. Meanwhile the law enforcers are investigating the matter. The further investigation of the criminal case by the Special Investigation Service will determine the liability of the other accused as well.
