The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office presented a charge to the detainee on the fact of the intentional murder of a father-son in Gori. The incident took place on April 28, 2025, Monday. The office is investigating the matter further to bring the culprits to justice.
The Prosecution Service of Georgia shared these details with the public through its social media handles on April 29, 2025. It should be noted that the employees of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia conducted an in-depth investigation into this crime.
According to the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was revealed that on April 28, in Gori, in the area of one of the shopping centers, the accused shot a father and son several times with a firearm while negotiating with a motive of revenge. As a result of the injuries, one victim died on the spot and the other died immediately after being taken to the hospital.
Law enforcement officers arrested the accused on the same day. He was charged under Article 109, Subparagraph “l” (intentional murder of two persons) and Article 236, Part 4 (illegal carrying of firearms and ammunition) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for a sentence of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The Prosecutor’s Office will apply to the court within the time limit established by law for the defendants to be imprisoned as a preventive measure. The investigation into the criminal case continues at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
