Georgia: The Agency of Protected Areas of Georgia will hold a significant event, the public meeting for the Imereti Caves protected areas management project, on September 10, 2024, at noon. They want the public to attend the event, as their presence and input are crucial for the success of this project.
The Imereti Cave Protected Areas management plan project has been prepared with the support of the ongoing program “Save Nature – Georgia” between the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and the Swedish Government.
The document was a result of a collaborative effort, prepared by the Ekoton NGO with the participation of the National Consultants, the Agency of Protected Areas, Imereti Caves Protected Areas Agency, Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, NGOs and other stakeholders.
The management plan has been developed according to the requirements of the Georgian Law on “System of Protected Areas,” and the structure, content, and thematic parts of the Protected Areas Management Plan approved by Order #110 of the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia on March 12, 2014, by the statement on the preparation stages and procedures for the methodology of developing the protected areas management plan.
The goal of the management plan is clear and meaningful-to determine long-term goals and appropriate management approaches for our precious protected areas. Your participation is key to achieving this goal.
Interested parties can send their contact information (email title: Public hearing attendance, name/surname, email). Post office, organization) then email. Go to pr.apa.gov@gmail.com .
